I recently received an email from someone promoting an eczema cream from the UK and it came with the glossy photos of a childs dreadful eczema and the miracle results from this cream.
Well the first thing I noticed was the ingredient “Propolis” which is the main ingredient. Propolis is a bee by product and it has some great results and has been used for hundreds of years. The only problem with propolis is, it is contraindicated for asthmatics, pregnancy and people with bee allergy. Not enough scientific research has been done to support its use. So considering there is a link between eczema and asthma and my daughter is asthmatic would I really take the risk in trying this product?
How many mothers out there knew this bit of information?
With more products being developed and promoted for eczema,
it is so important to become educated on what you are putting on your childs skin, because for children with allergies it can lead to far more serious problems.
Children with allergies already have lowered immune systems.
Clever marketing using horendous photos of a childs eczema can play on our emotions to buy a product, but reading the label must come first.
It Pays To Read The Label |
