Product Related Questions
If I have allergies to Peanuts, Wheat or Soy can I use your products?
Nature Within natural organic baby products have been specifically formulated to avoid using
any of the above ingredients in our formulations and we have ensured
our infused oils eg: Calendula are infused in a sunflower base and not
soy, saying this though we cannot guarantee that traces of these will
not be present during the manufacturing process it is best to do a patch
test. We can send you a free sample to try before purchasing
Is it safe to use essential oils on my newborn or premmie baby?
During babies first 6 weeks of life water is all that is required but if baby has very dry skin you can add some bath oil. Nature Within Massage and Bath Blend Oil does not contain essential oils.
After this certain essential oils can be used but only in the minimum quantities. Nature Within natural organic baby products contain less than 0.5% essential oils and we have ensured that only oils safe for baby skin care have been used. Again always patch test any product used on babies
If my child suffers with any of the following skin issues eg: sensitive, irritated, eczema or psoriasis can I use Nature Within natural, organic baby products?
While every endeavour has been undertaken to choose ingredients that are hypoallergenic it is still best to patch test any product before use
More information on how to patch test is on the left hand side of the website.
What is the TGA?
TGA stands for Therapeutic Goods Administration this is a government
based organisation that regulates all prescription medication and alternative
preparations making claims eg: eczema treatment.
A product that is covered under TGA must carry the AUST L or AUST R number
on their label and manufacture their products at TGA approved laboratories
using TGA approved ingredients.
A product legally cannot make a claim without the above requirements so
if you see a company claiming their product is an eczema treatment without this number then they are breaking the law and you should report
them.
Are your products TGA approved?
The Nature Within Soothing Moisturising Eczema Cream Aust L 168199 is approved by the TGA and does carry the AUST L number it is manufactured as per the above requirements.
The rest of the Nature Within natural organic baby products are also manufactured at the same laboratory but are not listed with the TGA as there are no claims being made that require them to be listed.
Will the Nature Within Soothing Moisturising Eczema Cream cure my child’s eczema?
Soothing Moisturising Eczema Cream is not a cure it is merely an alternative form of eczema treatment
which may or may not provide symptomatic relief. Eczema is an extremely
difficult condition to treat as what works for one person won’t
necessarily work for the next person. It usually requires a holistic approach
and the best person to advise you is your GP. There is currently no cure for eczema
Do your products contain alcohol?
The only alcohol present is in the medicinal grade active extracts in
the Soothing Moisturising Eczema Cream the total amount is less than 3% of the total product.
Can the whole family use Nature Within natural baby products?
Yes certainly as babies have extremely sensitive skin, the amount and type of ingredients used need to be kept to lower levels than that of a product for older children and adults. This is the only difference.
What is phenoyxethanol?
It is a broad spectrum preservative that inhibits the growth of mould,
fungus, bacteria and other potential nasties just because the product
looks alright doesn’t mean it is and you certainly don’t
want to apply a cream that contains mould on your baby. Preservative
usually makes up 1% of a product
Why don’t you use a natural preservative?
Unfortunately there is currently no natural preservative available that
can fully protect a product against bacteria, fungus, mould and other
potential nasties. A product can contain various nasties without being
visible to the human eye. Always read the label on your product and
question the manufacturer about it.
